1. Children of a Portuguese mother or Portuguese father, born abroad who register their birth in the Portuguese civil registry or declare that they want to be Portuguese - article 1, paragraph 1 paragraph c) of the Nationality Law and article 8 of the Regulation of Nationality.
2. To those born abroad with at least one ascendant of Portuguese nationality of the 2nd degree in the straight line who has not lost that nationality, if they declare that they want to be Portuguese, have effective ties of connection to the national community and, having verified such requirements, register your birth in the Portuguese civil registry - article 1, paragraph 1 point d) of the Nationality Law and article 10-A of the Nationality Regulation.
3. To those born in Portuguese territory, children of foreigners, if at the date of birth the mother or father had been legally residing here for at least five years, and provided that none of them was in the service of the respective State, if they declare that they want to be Portuguese - article 1, paragraph 1 subparagraph f) of the Nationality Law and article 10 of the Nationality Regulation.
4. To those born in Portuguese territory, who prove that they do not have any nationality - article 1, paragraph 1 point g) of the Nationality Law and articles 3 paragraph c) and 6 of the Nationality Regulation.
